SHIPPING INFO

Because of the application of local, state and Federal laws, shipping wine can sometimes get complicated. We are perpetually updating our system to allow shipping access to those regions where compliance is available. Our shipping company is top-notch, and we always strive to get your bottles to you on time and at the right temperature. Read more below for the most common questions regarding our shipping protocols. If you do not your question/answer listed here please send us an email.

For all orders: All wine packages require an adult signature at time of delivery. When possible, please use a business address for your shipping location instead of a residence so that the recipient can easily provide the signature.

We highly recommend signing up for UPS My Choice or FedEx Delivery Manager to be notified of your shipping status / updates.  Deliveries are always weather permitting.

CLUB MEMBERS - READ ME!

As a Bergamot Club Member there are no additional shipping costs for retail wine purchases. When you purchase bottles from our bottle shop your retail wines will be added to your next month’s Club wines and shipped all together. Simply make sure you are logged in and click the “free shipping” button upon checkout. Voila! There are a whole lot of tasty Old World and California options, as well as extra bottles from your current Club wines to choose from.

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you choose a business address for your shipping address. A signature is required for all wine shipments- choose an address where someone will be present to sign for the wines.

You will have a maximum of three opportunities for successful delivery. After that, if you miss all attempts, the wines are returned to our warehouse and you will be charged a $20 restocking fee. We will pack all missed delivery wines up with your next month’s Club shipment.

Please download the UPS app on your very smart phone. Our shipping company will notify you when your wines are on their way and UPS is our preferred carrier for almost every ship address. The app will give you the most up-to-date information on the location of your shipment.

GIFTING A CLUB MEMBERSHIP - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

When you purchase a Gift Subscription for a friend there are a few things you will need to know:

• We will contact the recipient by email approximately two weeks prior to shipping. We need to coordinate logistics for delivery to ensure shipping success. 

• You have the option of adding a note to the recipient when you check out. We will include your message in our email to them. 

• The recipient of the gift is required to create their own account once they are notified of the gift. There they will be able to add their own payment information and amend their shipping information. Your account information is never revealed to the recipient. 

• The recipient of the gift will have all the same membership perks of a regular Club member. Free shipping on additional bottles and discounts on sale items and case purchases!

WHERE CAN YOU SHIP WINE?

We ship to most places in the US. Below is our most current list of states/regions we are NOT able to ship to:

AL, AK, AR, DE, DC, HI, KY, MS, NJ, RI, SD, UT

WHERE DO MY WINES SHIP FROM?

Our Home Base for shipping is in Napa County, California. All California and Oregon deliveries ship direct from the warehouse. For all other regions the wines move to a regional “Ship Hub” in your area where they are then transferred to trucks supplied by local shipping partners (usually UPS). These trucks finish the delivery right to your doorstep.

WHY DO WINE DELIVERIES REQUIRE A SIGNATURE?
Back to those Federal laws: it is a requirement for this particular government regulated product. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a business for your delivery address. This is because most deliveries happen during that 9-5/M-F window, and businesses have a higher likelihood of a human present to sign for the wines.

Weather happens. Trucks break down. Fire season is a real thing in California. Rest assured that there is a small village of very dedicated individuals working really hard around the clock trying desperately to correct whatever just happened that has delayed your order.

DELIVERY OPTIONS FOR MY WINE DURING HOT WEATHER
All of our trucks are temperature controlled from Sonoma County up to the point of your local “Ship Hub.” We track the temperature for all delivery states and will let you know via email if we think heat will be an issue for your wines. Additionally, we will offer ice packs for purchase if weather calls for such measures.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY WINES TO GET TO ME?

Western States Delivery: The wine is on route for delivery to you within 3 business days of your purchase.* Your tracking number reflects the current delivery timeframe.

Central and Eastern States Delivery: From date of purchase please expect 7-10 days for delivery. Our shipping company uses temperature controlled trucks to transport our wine across the country. The tracking number will not update as the wine is traveling on the truck. Once the truck arrives at your local hub, the wine will be handed off to UPS or FedEx for final delivery. This is when the tracking number “goes live” and updates.

*Arizona Delivery: Please expect a company called Wine 2 U to contact you directly to arrange for delivery. They keep the wine protected in a temperature controlled warehouse AND deliver in temperature controlled trucks, so yay for that, Arizona!

WHY CAN’T YOU SHIP WINE TO ME?

Most likely because of your state’s laws regarding compliance. Contact your local government officials to get involved in the ever-changing-landscape of Alcohol Compliance Laws.

WHAT DO I DO IN THE CASE OF A BROKEN BOTTLE?
Broken bottles are an extremely rare occasion. If you receive a bottle that has been damaged contact us immediately via email and we will remedy the situation.
